US hbk: NESFA Press, 2,500 copies on 4 September 2004, followed by two further printings of 1,500 copies each (1-996778-57-4)
In the first printing, the pages on which the last three items appear – ‘Magic Kingdoms’, ‘Once and Future’, and ‘A Word About Hats’ – were different from those given on the Contents page, 255-59 instead of 261-65, and worse to follow, with pages 279-280 missing altogether. ‘The Titles That Got Away’ correctly starts on p. 281. This was corrected, I believe, in the reprints.

The fiction writings in this collection appeared later in A Blink of the Screen, London: Doubleday, 2012, and the non-fiction in A Slip of the Keyboard, Doubleday, 2014.

The version of ‘A Collegiate Casting-out of Devilish Devices’ published in the Corgi edition is slightly longer than that in the hardcover. I had not realised that Terry had added to the ending I had seen (and later sent to Doubleday for this collection) when he sent it to the THES. I discovered this too late to change the text in the Doubleday edition.

German:  Although aware of the earlier Piper collection, Goldmann contracted to publish the complete collection,  but then had second thoughts about publishing it and decided to publish a volume containing those items not included in Piper’s edition, together with some additional writings. They then had third thoughts, and decided to withdraw from the contract.
